Classes can be provided throughout the school day or as part of your extended provision.
“Thank you very much for an excellent dance club. Kickstep have more than met our expectations. The children have never enjoyed dancing so much, nor have they experienced such sociability in dance before. It's not a good dance club but a GREAT dance club - I would highly recommend you to anyone who asks!” Joyce Pickton, School Club Co-ordinator, St Georges Primary
Yoga classes take younger pupils on an exciting journey to a new country where they will have an adventure. Classes are creative, team building, physical and educational, where children learn about different parts of their body and also such diverse things as camels, mere cats, rainforests or wherever the adventure takes them. For older students the focus is more on correct posture, stretching, toning, body awareness and understanding of muscles movement, breathing, pair work, group work, relaxation and meditation techniques.
Dance teaches children the invaluable skills of co-ordination, rhythm, self-expression and teamwork. Kickstep teach Hip Hop, Street jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Lindy hop, and creative movement. Their extremely talented teachers can break the hour or day into Singing, Dance and Acting to create a scene from any musical.
Drama classes are confidence building, expressive, energetic and fun. Pupils can learn a scene from a popular play and set it on stage throughout the term and finishing with a performance for an invited audience!
Move like a butterfly, sting like a bee with Kickstep’s Capoeira Club. This is the boys’ favourite club and they learn to be strong and light on their feet, get fit and have fun! Our teachers have backgrounds in many different styles and they create fun, demanding, strengthening class or workshop. Capoeira offers a fantastic combination of dance and non-contact martial arts. With music and sometimes singing, fun, energetic and exciting pastime.
Tai Chi offers an opportunity to relax as students breathe, move and focus. Practise this soft martial art technique and discover its endless benefits to overall health and wellbeing. This club is ideal for children who would like to become more focussed and patient in their attitude.
Cheerleading or dance aerobics provide an energetic discipline which greatly improves fitness and teamwork or try Belly Dancing a fun, explorative and energetic class that is fantastic for the spine and core strength.
