Global Fusion Music & Arts

Global Fusion Music & Arts is a not for profit arts co-operative who have provided artists from around the world for schools, museums, festivals and community events since 2001. They cater for all learning styles and specialise in promoting visual literacy, providing everything from workshops and performances to inset days and full project management.

GFMA provide: workshops, performances, Inset days and project management with: Musicians, storytellers, puppet shows, children’s theatre, carnivals, parades, capoeira, drummers, dancers, drama, poets, jugglers, acrobats, environmental and recycling workshops.

 

Storytellers – Our storytellers tell stories from around the world with instruments and puppets from many different cultures to suit all religious and other festivals as well as others. (Photographs of past projects available)

Parades & Carnivals – GFMA work in schools providing workshops leading up to a carnival and parade, from cultural backgrounds, such as, South America, Africa and the Caribbean. (DVD’s of past projects available)

Hands on Collection – GFMA have a ‘Hands on Collection’ of instruments from around the world. We create exhibitions using the collection and teach children to play some of the instruments.

Project Management – GFMA project managed the Horniman Museums ‘Fusion Festival’ in 2004 and the ‘Africa 05’ festival in 2005 and are currently working with them on an African festival for 2010. In Greenwich we produced and managed ‘ The Riverside World Music Festival’ in 2004 and the ‘Greenwich Jazz’ 2009 (part of the London Jazz Festival). GFMA working with organisations, such as, The Natural History Museum and Greenwich Heritage Centre have produced many projects for Black History Month. (DVD’s of past projects available)

Drama – Drama is one of GFMA’s specialties, we provide workshops on a wide variety of topics including, ‘The Second World War’, ‘The Egyptians’ and ‘Decades’ covering the period from the war to the present day. Drama workshops are bespoke to fit in with different topics to enhance the new curriculum. (DVD’s of past projects available)

Filming projects – Working with schools and young people, GFMA help the participants to: write the script; cast the actors; film; edit; produce the music and screen the end product the film itself. (DVD’s of past projects available).
